Sustainability

Soda is committed to building a better future for the next generation by solving Australia’s most pressing environmental issues.

“It’s vital that we do everything we can to secure a future for the Great Barrier Reef, from an environmental and economic perspective”

Bevan Slattery

Sustainable innovation is a big part of our vision.

A core project under SODA’s sustainability banner is the development of one million square meters of environmentally tolerant reef. SODA has been working with universities on this project and is seeking for the research and development component to be completed in the next few years. Over the past decade Biopixel has been building the largest online high definition digital video library of the Great Barrier Reef, providing content for companies such as BBC, National Geographic, Amazon, Netflix and Discovery. This content serves a vital role in research, education and conservation, allowing scientists to study first hand the impacts of climate change.
Environment

Beyond the reef, SODA is aiming to be carbon-neutral across the entire group by the end of 2023, through direct investment in renewable infrastructure. This will initially encompass a megawatt solar array planned in the second half of 2022.

Beyond some of SODA’s big and bold projects, an overarching commitment to the environment and sustainability is engrained across our portfolio and investment process.
